Meet the Family that Started Helping Hands Grateful Hearts

The Johnson Family
Meet the founders!

In the early 2000's, Susan and Kevin thought that it was an important life lesson to take their children to a local food bank in their home town. The importance of helping others sank deep into the core of the Johnson family- from ambassador trips, to mission trips, and finally blossoming into the organization it is today: Helping Hands Grateful Hearts!
What others are saying...
Volunteers are at the heart of our organization!

I met the Johnson's in 2015 on their very first build.  It has been the most amazing experience ever. Sharing with people from different nationalities, ages and cultures has allowed me to understand that change doesn't come alone. We have worked with many communities and families. We have not changed the world but I am sure we have changed the world for them
                                              - Diana Mazariegos

A couple years ago, my friend/coworker talked so highly of her trips to Guatemala Helping Hands and Techo, so without hesitation I signed up! The entire experience was incredibly eye-opening, humbling, and life-changing.
                                              - Shannon O'Leary
Every member of Helping Hands Grateful Hearts and the Techo crew was so warm, patient, and supportive during not only the build, but every moment we spent together during the tourism portions of the trip. With their unending and genuine support, I ended up doing things I never thought I’d be able to do.
